Get some wood chips (I like planer chips). paint on stripper
for the appropriate time, use rubber gloves and rub off the
old paint and stripper with handfuls of the chips.
Repeat if necessary the clean the wood with alchohol or laquer thinnerand then chose a stain and rub it on. Then use varnish or polyurethane as
      a top sealer. Easy.

these chairs have webbing seat and back, that have rotted. i found a name Shanker a material to replace the seat and back, but do not have a contact, nor do I know whether this procedure is the one for me to handle. Can you recommend a product, and where to locate same?

      Thank you

I plan to strip some chairs over at the church. They look like chairs you would find at a teacher’s desk. Straight back. I am wondering what is the best finish to put on them once I have stipped and cleaned them.
