Recessed Lights

I have 2 canister lights in my kitchen ceiling. They said to keep attic insulation away from the lights, but when its windy outside I can feel cold air coming down out of the lights from the attic area.

How can I insulate these. The light canisters are brand new.

P.S. they are thermo protected.

you can insualte them but you have to keep the insulation 3 inches away, cant pack it around them, make a fire

i say 3 inches but depending on manfacture this may vary, is usually on a warning label on back of can
