DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO BUY RADIATOR COVERS? I’VE LOOKED ALL OVER BUT HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYONE WHO STILL SELLS THEM.

We’re in the same boat, but after reviewing the heating effect of the covers
we are going to sand blast the paint off and paint with metal radiator paint to
leave a bright finish. Dull paint with covers waste tons of money. We are
building front faces that are 8 inches off the floor and have an oak frame
with metal grid fronts, but no top – only using where we need a
block from the front – good luck. David

Tom – You may want to think about building your own. There was an artice in the Nov-Dec 1996 (pg 12-17) issue of “American How-To” magazine. They used red oak in what I would call an “arts and crafts” type style.

I make custom affordable radiator folding screens. They are made to cover the front and a portion of the sides of radiators. I make them out of homosote covered with a fabric of your choice (either yours or ours), to the dimensions of your radiator. I use decorative hinges and ship them anywhere in the country. Please e mail if you would like to see pictures and prices, which include shipping. Thank you
