Need advice on how to install and repair pocket doors. A friend of mine has a pocket door that seems to have fallen off the track but we’re not sure if the roller came of the track or the roller came off the door. Any advice would be appreciated.
I have replaced roller hardware on two of my pocket doors. They are six panel doors of near exrterior quality and relatively heavy. After many hours of trying “easy” fixes, my final solution was to remove the moulding on the open side of the rail. I was then able to remove the door and make the necessary repairs. Although it wasn’t the first choice it became the only choice. They now work wonderfully.
I am looking at putting in pocket doors in my 1890 orginally built house. The doors are hard wood and I would like to use them, I am looking for a step by step instructions and advice on how to do this, any web pages out there?
