      i live in california and im doing a repipe on my house i have the whole house gutted out.i was wondering if i should use pex or just do it all in copper.what is the differance?how hard is it to do ?

      I think that ease of running the lines is the reason for using PEX. I gather that it is not a DIY job, however, as some rather specialized expensive equipment is required as well as the learning curve needed. One of the plusses is the ‘home run’ style of plumbing to a central manifold with central stops for each line.

      I recently talked to a plumber for an estimate to replace polybutylene (PB) piping in a home. When I asked about PEX, he said he is already replacing PEX due to failures! This plumber has crews replacing PB on a full time basis. Copper is best!
