Looks like this year we’ll be paying twice for the luxury of living in Florida.

First Charley…..and now three weeks later, Big sister Francis……

My Cocoa family is moving over to Orlando to avoid the expected coastal storm-surge……..I just bought a generator, the LAST one on the shelf at a equipment rental store………………

At the HomeCenters it’s a circus between Repairs and Preparations…….some “Ugly” encounters for the last available supplies…..the “haves vs the have-nots”…

There are already thousands of roofs in need of repair in the Central Florida…….The State still refuses to accept out-of-state-licensed contractors from making repairs……………

This is a big one right now:
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 140 MPH…220 KM/HR…WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME FLUCTUATIONS IN INTENSITY ARE EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 70 MILES…110 KM…FROM THE CENTER…AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 175 MILES…280 KM.

Right now it looks like an East Coast event that misses you to the North. That said, lots of uncertainty between now and Saturday afternoon or evening when it is projected to landfall at ???Daytona Beach???.

Get off the coast!!! I have been through a 3 and a 5. Best Advice, seek shelter away from any objects that might crush your shelter, such as trees and towers. Buy sevwal rolls of poly now to protect your home and keep the rain out for the weeks after the storm has passed. Get your hands on as much cash as possible. Money talks after a storm such as this and credit cards will not do any good if there is no power. Try to format a plan to contact relatives after the storm. The worst feeling is not knowing if your family is safe.
We are a very resiliant country and it is amazing how bounce back after a natural disaster. Your neighbors will pull together with you and help in any way they can.
Good luck Florida and may God be with you.

You’ve got the generator now make sure you have enough fuel for it. You might be not able to get any after the storm. Fill you vehicle before the storm also. Be carefull how you store the fuel. Don’t want to create a fire hazard.
