Can you advise me the best way to remove paint from bricks on the exterior of my house. Thank you!

Get a sledge hammer and knock out the bricks.

Not sure if there is a “best” way. But don’t sandblast the bricks, you’ll ruin them. Try a paint remover solution and lots of elbow grease. Best, perhaps, to hire this job out.

Short of knocking out the bricks and short of sandblasting, there is nothing that will remove the paint from the brick.

Brick is quite pourous and absorbs paint just as wood absorbs stain.

Without ‘sanding’ the brick (as in sandblasting) it is just as impossible to completely remove paint as it is to remove stain from wood without sanding it.

Are you talking about a lot of paint? Graffiti? Overspray? Oil or latex?. An electric heat gun and wire brush (one with the scraper on the end) can get a lot off and then weathering will sometimes take care of the rest if you’re talking about a small area. If you are talking about a large area, professional sandblasting is probably your best bet. Some more information is needed for us to answer any better than that. Luck, Kizmet
