My Oil furnace, a 10 years old Burnham with a Beckett head, has had an intermittant problem which now has become a daily problem. IT stops running and I have to hit the Reset button to get it going. This used to happen once in a while, usually after the burnre had not run for a while. but now it is happening every morning and the house gets cold. I have set back thermostats and they do set back. THe burner is tuned yearly and I just had the oil man come and he tuned it up again and replaced the filter, the nozzle and he cleaned the electric eye that senses the flame and the sparker (?).

Can anyone give me some advice on this? It has the oil guy stumped and my wife frozen. We are afraid to leave the house for more than 8 hours now and it is getting mighty cold here.

      Thanks

      Steve

First thing I’d replace is the stumped oil guy. Is yor tank outside? If so it mite gel during a cold night, then be warm enough to flow when the oil guy gets there.
