I have a cabin built on a concrete slab. During the humid summers in MN, I get alot of moisture through the floor. Can anyone recommend a waterproof membrane I can put down to prevent the moisture problem before installing carpeting?

      Thanks.

Put this on the floor first and be guaranteed that you won’t end up with moldy carpets.

Other method is too use the rubber backed ,glue down carpet.

I suspect what you have is moisture from the warm, humid air condensing onto the cold concrete.
I agree with theeagle, in that if you isolate the floor from the air, it will stop the problem. It might be enough just to have a membrane carpet (outdoor) to insulate the air from the concrete.

Thanks theeagle and Dodgeman for your replies. You are correct – I think the problem is the temperature difference from the cool concrete to the humid air. A dehumidifier works well to dry the floor over time, but unfortunately we are not at the cabin all enough to babysit the tanks and a floor drain is nowhere near. The soil is very sandy and the grade outside the structure is more than adequate.

      Thanks again!
