GuestMy husband and I are putting a drop-in whirlpool tub in our new master bath. We know we have to build a deck for the tub, but need ideas for the access panel for the front of the tub. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make the access panel and what to use for doors?

Steve:
Guestsome people have the access door on the other side of the wall accessed from a closet on the back wall if applicable.
If not, you can have a neat hinged door made that is not too conspicous or have a sliding door made that just slides to the side for access.
Check out what is being shown in show rooms for these units. You could get some ideas there.

GuestI asked the same question ! espically after seeing the design of the access panels on the (skirted) tubs on display ,
I got the best answer from a friend who has a tub already , he had a cultured marble deck, wallks, end, and face of the tub made , but when the face was installed it was only installed with a couple of small spots of silicone, which would be easily seperated and re-applied if access is needed, and no door or hinges needed!
and I guess a panel could also be made out of the tile that matches your bathroomon backer board or water proof plywood! -
