I have an 8″ poured concrete foundation. I’d like to install some windows in our walk-out basement. Is it possible to cut through the foundation and install the windows. If so, is this a DIY project? Is there anything special that I need to know about before I do this? How expensive is it to have someone cut these holes – I’m looking to put in 5 windows. Anyone out there with experience doing this?
Our Yellow Pages has several firms listed under “Breaking, Cutting & Sawing Concrete”. I suggest you look in your phone book and call one of these places. I really don’t think that this a DIY type of project. If you were talking about a cinderblock wall, I would think it doable by the homeowner, but not with poured concrete.
