I have an existing hardwood floor in a bathroon and I am thinking of putting down cement board and tile. I was wondering do I just screw down the cement board and tape the joints or do I mortar it down and then screw. Also I would like any othe helpful hints anyone can offer

      Thanks Much

Follow the instructions on the Hardibacker cement board. The mortar prevents any cement board movement due to uneven floors underneath. Makes for a stronger installation. I personally like a latex modified mortar such as TEC 345. You can use it to install the cement board, fill the joints, and to install the tile.

      Good Luck!
