My husband and I recently built an outdoor pool house. We have veneered plywood cabinets with stone from the NC mountain quarries. I want to install granite counter tops, because they not only would look the best, but would be very serviceable. The cost of $50 sq. ft. installed is proving to be a little prohibitive; do you have any suggestions for another counter top that would be less costly, yet very substantial? Someone else suggested concrete…?

      Hello,

You can use granite/marble tile over a cement board, this will give you the over all look you want with out breaking the bank. The big different is you will see some grout lines but it doesn’t look bad at all.
