I hope someone can help me here. I have a GE TFX27F with the automatice ice maker and dispenser. The ice maker was working fine for a while, then while i was having work done in the house the electricity got turned off for a while. So i turned it back on and set the ice maker to make ice.
Well now since that has happened water falls to the bottom of the freezer and clogs up the drainage hole on the bottom and that in turn makes water eventually leak out of the freezer. So the first time this happened I shut the fidge off, got all of the ice out and turned it back on. Left it on with the ice maker off for a good while, a couple of days, so i recently turned the ice maker back on.
Lo, and behold the same thing happened. No ice was made but water was collecting on the bottom of the freezer and I had to de-ice it again. Any tips as to how i can fix this or what is going on??

      Many thanks in advance!

** [GE fridge] water falls to the bottom of the freezer and clogs up the drainage hole on the bottom and that in turn makes water eventually leak out of the freezer. **

There are only 2 places a considerable amount of water can come from in the freezer, the icemaker’s supply or defrost water drain. My guess is that it is the defrost water drain that is plugged and it eventually backs up to be noticeable (which could very well take a couple of days).

You can read about what may need to be done to correct such a condition on several different makes and designs of refrigerators at the following link:
