      Please help!

I have a couple of fairly expensive stereo speakers that I would like to refinish. They had a soft flat black finish which was ruined from improper storage. I have no idea what the black stuff was, but I sanded it off. Underneath is particle board with a fake wood finish laminated to it. Should I remove the laminate? I would appreciate suggestions on the best way to finish? They have to look nice, so this is more important than cost.

      Thanks,

      Bob

…build new cabinets for them. Depending on how skilled you are (and how complcated the cabinets are), you could probably just new cabinets altogether.

Or you could re-veneer them completely.

Just a couple of ideas to think about.
