I have an old house with old “pushmatic” circuit breakers. I thought one had gone bad and replaced it. This did not work though. I have power to my outlets that it was dedicated to, but nothing I plug in will work. I am baffled. Please respond with any possible answers.

You “have power” to outlets for the circuit you replaced.

What voltage do you have? If you “have power”, how do you know?

Sounds like you might have a voltage drop somewhere between panel and the outlets. Disconnect power when you aren’t around, good chance for a fire. Post voltages at start of run. Disconnect first receptacle, check voltage, and post here again.

If you don’t have a meter. Change the first outlet in the run, and leave the rest disconnected and test with an appliance. If it won’t run, you have a problem in the line from the panel, or where the breaker mounts, etc.

If you aren’t 100% sure of what you can/can’t do inside the panel, call an electrician, it might be your life.
