      I have a set of switches that control two different lights. One for my dining room and one for the kitchen. They are side by side in the box. I would like to get switches that are over each other to use for this and then I would like to add an outlet to the side I remove. I could use an outlet there to use for a cordless phone above these switches.

      no problem:as long as there is a neutral wire available for the outlet.
