I am currently trying to install a light/fan control switch to my house. Where one side controls the light and the other side controls the fan. However I am puzzled to see that on the box in the wall thier are two black wires, two white wires and a ground wire the instructions tell me to conect the blue wire to the blue wire however I don’t see any blue wire.

A “basic” control that allows for independent control of the fan and the light requires a separat wire for the light and one for the fan.

From you description of the wiring in the switch box it appears that you have a one 2 wire cable with power in and another one with with power to the fan/light.

You can have have independent control with that type of wiring.

However there are remote control systems with a receiver that mounts in the fan canopy. It connects between the power and the fan and light.

IN THE FAN the blue wire is used for the lights and the black for the fan.
