We recently built a new house, and within 6 months we’ve had a few cracks appear in the walls, we figure due to the house settling.

The cracks are appearing near corners, where the joints were covered with metal flashing during the mudding and taping.

How exactly would I fix this? It doesn’t look like I can just mud it and paint it.

I’m very new at this, it’s my first home, and I’ve never had much experience with doing repairs myself, so simple explanations would be best for me.

      Thanks

possibly the drywallers did not screw the corners in with enough screws or forgot them all together.
depending on how much is cracking off them, you could scrape the drywall compound off and see if that is the reason, then add more screws and re-apply compound.(the small holes get the screws about every 6 – 10 inches.)
but you may have to get them to come back (if you have the new home warranty in effect there) .
