Just purchased a home and had the carpet cleaned. The temperature of the cleaning caused the enzyme in the “hidden” cat pee to activate. I have removed the carpet and padding and sanded the stains on the wood sub floor. The smell didn’t go away. Next I tried a chemical cleaner (nature’s Miracle) but the smell has not gone away. It has been about five days. Are there any industrial strength cleaners? What about sealing the flooring with vapor barrier? Any suggestions. Help!!!! I bought a litter box!

We are in the process of using Kilz, found it at Lowe’s. It is an oil based sealer. We used Petzyme first, but we’ve heard that what you used was better (Nature’s Miracle). So far, so good with the Kilz.

KILZ is a great product for ‘sealing’ in odors associated with pets, smoke, etc. I highly recommend it …
