Can Pergo floors be polyurothaned?

I noticed that during installation, there were some areas of the floor where the seams met that

were not level or smooth. Can I apply a polyurothane coating to seal over these areas?

or will that defeat the expansion/contraction factor (although we have 1/4″ all the way around).

This is for non-glued installation.

it should lay flat, and there is nothing you can put on as a coating.

area rug to cover it up? 🙂
