I am laying burber carpet on a basement floor. The floor has been sealed. I have the padding and tac strips ready to put down. What do I have to do first?

Roll the carpet out in the area, rough cut it to size and using a stretcher and a knee kicker get it over the tac strips.

Burbur has no nap, so you can lay it in any direction (regular strand carpet has a ‘direction’ that you have to lay it in).

If you need to seem it, good luck, thats not easy.

Buy a good relative humidity meter and keep the relative humidity below 50% to prevent mold/mildew and dust mites from growing under the carpeting. When mold grows, it’s slow at first but gets out of control after a couple years.
