I have a Bosch propane instant hot water heater hooked up at our summer cottage. The water is fed from a 60 foot well with a submersible jet pump and then into a 50 gallon pressure tank. From there the water is fed into the cottage, with a line running to the hot water heater and lines running off it to various taps etc in the cottage. All power is obtained from a 4500 watt generator as we have no electrical lines at the location. My problem is that the water that comes out of the well and into the pressure tank is ice cold.
The Bosch heater is a large one, but the water is so cold entering the heater that in order to heat the water to a usable level, the heater cuts the flow so low that it is almost a dribble coming out of the taps. Barely usable. Overall water pressure is fine coming out of the A.O.Smith 50 PSI bladder pressure tank.
Does anybody have any recommendations on some type of preheater or something that would allow proper flow of warm water, without replacing the whole system?
Thanks for any help.
