Does anyone know what the best treatment is for
keeping a black Virginia slate tile floor looking
good? I only clean it with pinesol and water. Is
it OK to use any of the commercial products such
as Mop& Glo? I did try it on the brown slate
flate rock work under the wood stove and it darkened
and brightened them. I have been holding off
doing anything to the kitchen floor until I
found out what would be good but just never have
      the time to plan.

      Thanks

As you know, mop n glow is a type of finish( WAX ). This will add shine to your floor.
If this is what your looking for, I recommend a finish made for slate, made by TEC. It comes in gloss or matte finishes. If you decide to use one of these finishes, I recommend you wash the floor down with vinegar and water before hand to remove any residues from the floor, left from the cleaners you have used.
If Larry responds he is the man to have more details.

Where can I buy plain black ceramic floor tiles?

I did find some from TileFlair, but they are discontinued!

      PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!

I have an orange/beige/brown colored slate rock trim in the front of my house that I would like to paint a different color. I limit the options of house paints if I keep the rock as is. I would like to lighten up the color of the house (the house was built in the 70’s) exterior.
