I used the Bix stripper with a plastic scraper to remove varnish (I think) from an old oak(?) floor- some areas turned black and gray, others are OK. Lightened a bit with bleach, but little effect on the black. Sanding doesn’t get into the grain. What is a girl suppose to do?

Did you use BIX Hydro-Stripper? How long did you leave it on? Is all the finish off? This sounds a lot like you have mold growing under finish that is still on the floor. How have you tried to sand?
