Adding a second story to my house

I have a one story concrete block house in Florida and am considering adding a second story to it. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what is involved structurally. My house is about 1500 sq. ft. so if anyone has done this and could give me some kind of financial estimate it would be greatly appreciated. I don’t know if this has ever been done by any of Bob’s shows but if it has please let me know so I can look it up. Thanks

I too would love to add a second story to my house. We just purchased the house and it is in DIRE need of a new roof. It is a brick ranch, about 1048 s.f. and it currently has a scuttle attic, so there are stairs leading up to the attic.

Any advice or instructions on HOW TO do this or HOW MUCH it will cost would be greatly appreciated. Time is of the essence here.
