HAVE A KILN WHICH HAS 220 WIRING, BLACK , WHITE GREEN WIRES, I WANT TO HOOK IT UP TO MAY ELECTRICAL BOX. DOES THE BLACK WIRE GO ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE 220 BREAKER? THE WHITE AND GREEN BOTH GO TO THE PANEL AT THE TOP OF THE BOX

You need a double pole 220volt breaker.

These contain two terminals and span the knockout for two single breakers.

Both the white and black get connected directed to the double pole breaker…Black to one of the terminals. White to the other terminal.

The ground gets connected to the grounding bar in the panel.

Better get an electrican to help you.

isn’t what you may think. Going into houses is +110VAC and -110VAC. To get 220V, you connect between +110VAC and -110VAC. You do that connection through a double breaker, and it takes up two adjacent slots in the breaker panel.

An electrician would, of course, know this. When you do it yourself, it’s far too easy to make a mistake and get injured or killed if you do it wrong.

I have skin grafts from burns when I did it wrong.
