Which Wire is the Neutral One

Thanks, Billhart! The instructions say tie black to black and white to white. Comical isn’t it? The wire indeed is two wires molded together and upon inspection I did see that the wire without any writing on it has multiple ridges on it and the other wire is completely smooth all the way around. If I read your earlier reply, the wire with the ridges is the neutral (white) and the wire that is completely smooth is the hot (black)?
