Tile or?

I vote for tile; it is not difficult for me, and a small area would not be all that expensive. Tileboard is no where near as durable.
If you want to consider tile, read that topic on my website at http://www.bobf.info. You can set it directly on the drywall for a backsplash. Use latex modified thinset.
