Screeches the whole time.

The machine screeches right from the start of the spin cycle. My wife had put in a load of clothes and it ran fine until the spin cycle when it started screeching as the tub began to spin faster. Now when you turn it on at all it screeches when it tries to turn the tub. I don’t think it’s the brakes because when I shut it off, the screeching stops before the tub stops spinning. The screeching sound isn’t like a steady sound that brakes would make, it’s got an oscilation to it like reee-uur-reee-uur…

I will try oiling it though. And thanks for your comments so far.
