removing stucco from the ceiling

You say stucco, but is it possibly a plaster ceiling? What kind of construction do you have – wood frame with an attic or 2nd story above? Also, what kind of product are you anticipating installing for the ceiling? Is it to be a dropped ceiling with metal grid? Or you referring to tin ceiling panels? More info is required before an educated response can be made.
