Red Paint

You don’t mention the brand of paint.

Ralph Lauren uses a deeptone primer under thier reds. Glidden uses a monochromatic grey primer. I am fairly sure that BM and SW have tinted bases which help with coverage.

Both RL & Glidden guarantee two coats of finish over their recommended primer.

I would stick with the big brands here – I know RL & Glidden both work (have used them many times)…I would also be confident that BM and SW would have primers and products that work well too…
