If it’s been happening frequently then you may not have gotten it cleared the first time. Sometimes with an augar you just move past an object and the toilet works for awhile and then the trouble returns. In this case we pull the toilet and look up in it from the bottom with a mirror. Some put a rag on the end of their auger and pull it back through.
But in our days of low flush toilets it could not be your drain at all but the adjustments in the tank or the design of the toilet. If the tank doesn’t get the bowl to start siphoning out then it acts just like it’s stopped up. Is your water level an inch below the overflow? How is the action in your tank? Does the flapper remain up? How much water is left in the tank?
If you do have a low flush toilet what brand is it?
