I am in the process of re-doing our Kitchen (Tear-out and new install of cabinets. Currently I have a soffet (8″-height x 14.5″-depth) around the entire perimeter of a 12’x12′ room. I have been told that I need to extend the depth by 2.5″ to accomodate the cabinets and crown moldings. What would be the best wat to do this? I am a handy person and would consider doing this myself (qoutes that I have gotten have been way too high!)
