Problem with a cherry dining room set we inherited from an aunt. We aired it out for a day or two in our garage, then my wife gave it a going over with lemon Pledge. The odor all but disappeared. Now, several years later, there is no trace of odor whatsoever. Of course, the set is cherry, which has a tight grain. If your cabinet is oak, (which has an open grain) it may be a bigger problem. I would think if you could get it outside, and open it up on a nice sunny day with a breeze, it would go a long ways towards solving your problem.
Good luck!
