It makes no difference if an engine develops 4 hp at 4000 rpm or if another develops 4 hp at 10000 rpm. Geared properly, they both will give the same performance.
Another point….a 2 cycle engine by design has the potential of developing twice the horsepower as a 4 cycle. Don’t confuse engine designs with end performance, they both have their specific applications.
