Typical hardwood floor refinishing requires sanding, sealing, staining and finishing. There is really no way to advise you farther from your short description. I’m not even sure you are dealing with a hardwood finish floor, and not a plank subfloor. Before plywood was common, wood planks were laid as subflooring. It was never intended to be finished. If what you are dealing with is a damaged former finished floor, maybe you could elaborate on your question.
