Mirrors with sharp edges are not intended for hanging without a frame. The edges should be ground for safe handling. There are clips and metal tracks made specifically for hanging mirrors or glass and they are screwed into studs or anchors. A track is normally mounted to hold the bottom of the mirror and the sides and top are secured with the small clips.
