Switches, lights and outlets within 6 feet of most tubs, basins, and sinks must be GFCI (Ground fault circuit interuptor) protected.
GFCIs are especially sensitive ciruit breakers found usually on wall outlets in baths or as push button resets on circuits in a panel box.
It is most likely that you have a GFCI that tripped during the outage and needs to be reset.
