Sounds like they didnt set it up right. Not only does the nozzle have to be correct size and angle, the smoke level must be set and the over the fire draft is critical to burn properly.. plus the nozzle distance and the spark gap is critical..its not as simple as adjusting the air shutter and or damper. you need to find someone set it up properly. one can not assume that it was set correctly to begin with….
