I won’t get into if you should or shouldn’t use laminate floors in a bathroom, but I will say this about the underlayment. The laminate is a tongue and groove construction and if what you use to insulate underneath is too thick and there is too much give it in, you could end up cracking those joints. There is specific underlayment for that type of flooring and you don’t want to void the warranty.
