** Can [a replacement] dishwasher be hardwired? **

Someone will have to let you know what the electrical codes state (I don’t know them) or you can check with a local building inspector.

I myself (not an electrician mind you) can’t see there being a problem direct wiring a replacement dishwasher. But that is just my opinion.
