for now cut back on either side of the cracks so the plaster is solid. then put drywall mesh tape over the spot. then fill it in with joint compound. put the compound on in layers. start with a 4 or 6 inch knife then use and 8 inch then a 10 or 12 inch. sanding before the next coat. this will help hide the seams.
