Many cities have businesses which sell salvaged archetectural details. Surely NYC would have more than most! Check your yellow pages for building demolition firms, archetectural salvage, etc. I know that there is at one famous such firm in Chicago, but I don’t recall the name. In Atlanta, there are two or three, The Red Baron, being one, so certainly you should find a few in your area.
