  I have a pottery chimnea and it has a crack and I need to repair it. Do you know a way? Also, the stain on it is coming off. Do I need to repaint it and with what?

  People have used high temp epoxy (such as sold for muffler repair) or high temp silicone RTV (the red stuff).

  Refractory mortar is what I use for firebrick, but it won’t be as sticky as the epoxy or RTV.
