I’ve seen the Shluter Kerdi Drain system (TCA b421-01) which claims to eliminate the need for waterproof membrane under the mortar bed, reduce the labor and number of steps involved and that the membrane can be placed on top of the mortar bed with their special kerdi drain sloped flange. They claim that this is smarter by preventing moisture from getting into the mortar bed to drain to the weep holes.
I haven’t used this system – has anyone else? If so what type membrane was used and was it adhered to the mortar bed underneath or loose? Did it work like they say it will?
Thanks Dan
