We have found a weird fungus growing in our mulch. It has a bright orange carrot-like tube that extends above the surface of the mulch and egglike white pods attached to the tubes containing something green. There is usually one tube and many pods. What is it?
you’re probably using shredded hardwood; i had lots of interesting colors and types of fungi in mine too until i switched to shredded pine. a friend of mine is a master gardener, and hates shredded hardwood for this and other reasons.
